Preview: Kerala Blasters vs FC Goa
Kerala Blasters are set to face FC Goa in their upcoming home match of the 2024-25 Indian Super League (ISL) season, scheduled for November 28 (Thursday) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi.
In the corresponding fixture last season, Kochi became the backdrop for a memorable celebration as the Blasters made a stunning late comeback to win 4-2. FC Goa took the early advantage when Rowlin Borges scored with a volley from outside the box. They quickly doubled their lead, with Mohammed Yasir finishing a well-timed assist from Noah Sadaoui.
The Blasters responded in the second half, with Daisuke Sakai scoring a clever free-kick from the edge of the box. Kerala then equalized in the dying moments, when Diamantakos converted a penalty after Carl McHugh handled the ball in the box.
The game turned in the Blasters' favor when Diamantakos pounced on a mistake from Goa's goalkeeper Arshdeep Singh, who mishandled a simple cross from Aimen. Kerala sealed the win in style when Fedor Cernych found the back of the net with a strike to the near post, ensuring the victory.
